Pi Browser Introduction

Pi Browser is essentially a new interface for the Pi Apps/Utilities platform. It is designed to create a more open and direct Pi Utilities platform, allowing developers to easily develop, test, and deploy Pi Apps for pioneers to try and use in the future. As a general-purpose browser tool, it is still in its early stages, but it is currently the only browser that can support Pi applications. The browser is in beta testing, and more changes and features will be added in the future.

The mobile version of Pi Wallet is integrated into Pi Browser. Pi Wallet is an important milestone in Pi’s decentralized strategy for the Mainnet pioneers, as each pioneer can interact with the testnet blockchain through their wallet by creating Test-Pi transactions. As the community tests transactions on the Testnet, more preparations for the Pi Mainnet are also being made.

Is Pi Wallet bundled with Pi Browser? The wallet will eventually be placed inside the Pi Browser app, linking future Pi Apps with traditional enterprises to easily integrate Pi payments and interact with the Pi blockchain. This integration provides pioneers with a seamless decentralized web experience, allowing easy Pi blockchain transactions when accessing specific Pi App websites. This marks a major development for the Pi Utilities platform and reflects the core team’s efforts to build the Pi ecosystem. The core team will decide, based on community feedback, whether to keep the two separate mobile apps (mining app and browser app) or combine them into one app.

Pi Browser aims to provide a web experience for accessing the decentralized world. In addition to supporting any Web 2.0 websites like existing browsers, Pi Browser enables users to browse, interact with, and transact in decentralized applications (applications integrated with blockchain technology) for a seamless and user-friendly experience. Furthermore, Pi Browser features a curated directory of Pi apps and its own DNS system to support a new type of .pi domain names. For example, current apps—Pi Wallet, Pi Chat, Mining, and Brainstorm—can be accessed by entering wallet.pi, chats.pi, mine.pi, and brainstorm.pi in the browser’s URL bar. In the future, more Pi apps developed by third-party developers will be added to this directory and accessed via similar .pi URLs. Developers will also be able to start testing their apps earlier using non-Pi domain names.
