Introduction to Rootdata

Rootdata starts from the investment and financing data in the crypto market and aims to identify, filter, and optimize the redundant information in the current crypto industry. It presents project tags, blockchains, teams, investment backgrounds, related news, parent/child organizations, and more in a visualized and structured way to avoid getting trapped in the “information loop.”

Currently, Rootdata has launched seven functional modules, including Investment & Financing, Projects, Investors, Ecosystem Map, Tag Map, Tool Navigation, and Project Albums. Additionally, many useful small features are being gradually improved. This article will provide a detailed overview and explanation of all the features of the Rootdata platform to help users better understand and use the product.

On the “Investment & Financing” page, Rootdata has arranged nearly 4,000 public investment and financing records in the crypto field in chronological order. Users can filter the records based on different tags, financing amounts, chains, rounds, and valuations, such as NFTFi projects with a financing range of $1 million to $5 million.

On the “Projects” page, Rootdata has listed over 6,400 Web3 projects, initially sorted by the latest inclusion time (users can also choose to sort based on project popularity). Users can find the latest Web3 projects, with more than 100 new projects added every week.

Additionally, users can filter projects based on different tags, chains, investors, token issuance status, the latest valuation, region, and operational status. For example, “DeFi projects on Solana that haven’t issued tokens,” “Testnet projects on Aptos,” “Unlaunched projects invested by Binance Labs,” and “NFT projects located in the UK,” significantly improving project search efficiency.

By clicking on any project, users will be directed to the project homepage, where they can view detailed information such as project introduction, blockchain, financing records, related news, and similar products. All project introductions are compiled by Rootdata’s professional analysts based on official project websites, public reports, and internal verification channels to ensure accuracy, comprehensiveness, and timeliness.

On the “Investors” page, Rootdata lists over 3,000 investment institutions and individuals in the Web3 field. These are categorized into crypto-native funds, traditional venture capital funds, crypto projects, angel investors, etc., making it easier for users to filter according to specific categories. Users can also filter by the establishment date and operational status of these institutions.

On the “Ecosystem Map” page, Rootdata ranks over 150 Layer 1/2 blockchains based on the number of ecosystem projects. Users can check the development status of any Layer 1/2 ecosystem and the specific ecosystem projects, as well as filter detailed information based on subcategories, rounds, valuations, operational status, and more, including unlaunched and testnet projects.

On the “Tag Map” page, Rootdata categorizes all Web3 projects into nine major tracks: Infrastructure, DeFi, NFT, Gaming, CeFi, DAO, Tools & Information Services, Social Entertainment, and Others. Each track has more vertical subcategories and tags, such as the NFT track, which includes tags like NFTFi, NFT AMM, Digital Fashion, etc., and the DAO track, which includes tags like Investment DAO, Service DAO, and DAO Solutions, allowing users to identify projects in more specific areas.

On the “Charts” page, Rootdata visualizes a massive amount of investment and financing data to help users understand trends in primary market investments and financing within selected time periods, the number of financing deals and amounts in each track for every month and quarter, the top 10 projects with the largest financing amounts, and the status of different public blockchain ecosystems.

On the “Tool Navigation” page, Rootdata organizes various popular data products and tool websites based on functionality and use cases, including general tools, DeFi tools, NFT tools, and educational tools, expanding users’ functional options.

On the “Project Albums” page, Rootdata clusters and integrates scattered data into project lists based on different features. Users can access lists such as “2022 Crypto Industry Dead Projects,” “Binance Historical Incubated Projects,” “Coinbase Former Employees’ Entrepreneurial Projects,” and “YC’s Incubated Projects Over the Years.”
